Boating Instruction and Safety Center

The Boating Instruction & Safety Center, operated by California State University Channel Islands, will provide boating education, marine science courses, exhibits, and activites.  It will also feature exhibits by the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary.   It is slated to be built next to the old Port Royal Restaurant (now owned by the Ventura County Maritime Museum) on Harbor Boulevard.

Casa Sirena Redevelopment
Proposed reconstruction of the existing 1960’s era hotel, located at the end of Peninsula Rd, to a modern full service hotel and restaurants. The proposal includes reducing the current building footprint in order to increase public green spaces and improve waterfront access.

Fisherman’s Wharf Redevelopment

Proposed replacement of existing dated retail facility with a mixed-use project including apartments, dining, and shopping. The proposed design is pedestrian-oriented, with a large waterfront promenade and underground parking.  Fisherman’s Wharf is located at the Southwest corner of Victoria and Channel Islands Blvd.

Ventura County Maritime Museum

The Ventura County Maritime Museum now owns the building at the old Port Royal site next to The Whale’s Tail Restaurant.   Their plan is to rebuild.  go to:  Ventura County Maritime Museum to make a donation or for more information.
